- Tim H moved, Daniel M seconded. No objections, comments or abstentions. Minutes approved.
- Michelle indicated that it was agreed that CK_LMOTS and CK_LMS_TYPE should not be included in the spec and questioned inclusion in the header file
- Bob agreed not to be included in the header file.
- Michelle noted also that CKA_HSS_PARAMS did not need to be included as this was specified in it's own RFC - agreed
- Michelle also noted that CKA_Value was also described in an RFC so did not need definition in the spec
- Tim H asked about how in pkcs#11 attribute form, we could describe the attribute sizes for HSS key components
- Michelle asked if pulling it out of the cert was not sufficient
- Tim indicated that we should not need to parse the cert to get this info.
- Bob indicated that you could look up the object but we may not always know the code
- Michelle stated that if the LMS & LMOTS are the same for all trees going down, it can be estimated but there are no guarantees that it is the same as we movce down and this may affect the length/strength.
- Bob noted that we need something on the key that we can fetch (give me the strength)
- Tim suggested that we do need a something, even if this is the lowest strength key down the chain
- Michelle asked if we are talkign about a user who does not have access to the private key.... yes
- Michelle that suggested that we keep CKA_HSS_Params as this would be the best way
- Bob & Tim suggested that this can just be the lowest key strength (smallest hash size used etc) and leave it to implkementers to map that.
- Michelle suggested that unless we fully populate the full set of HSS_Params, we may not be able to calculate the signature size
- Bob & Tim were comfortable with this.
- Michelle will need to look into this to find a useable approach for a "strength summary"
- Tim suggested we look at a generic set of "strength categories" for v3.2
- Michelle asked if we have too much information in the private key section.
- Bob suggested that some of the things may be superflous and should we consider dropping them.
- Response (Tim, Bob, others) indicated that the information was useful for templates etc and should be included.
- Tony C requested TC members to review the proposals from the wiki page to ensure they have been incorporated into the document correctly. Members should also update the wiki (far right columns) to note that they have completed the review (or indicate this status at a meeting).
- Tim suggested that perhaps any work on "interesting or new" items be held until the review is complete.
- Tim noted that some feedback had been received form Daniel on the PKCS#11 profiles content
- Daniel indicated he need to look at it closely before discussion
- Tim & Daniel discussed how preconditions for a given profile can be communicated
- This will be added to a future agenda for discussion.
- Tony noted that the call for Co-Chair nominations had been completed with no additional nominations (beyond the existing co-chairs).
- Greg S moves, Jonathan S seconds. No objections, abstentions or comments. Motion carried.
- Tony noted that no nominations had been received for PKCS#11 secretary & if anyone would lie to volunteer to assist, please contact Tony and/or Bob.
- Next meeting will be March 31, 2021.
- Tony noted that those outside the US will see a change in time as US moves their clocks forward on 14 March (EU follows on 28 March).
