User Story

As a user, whether I be anonymous or registered user, I want to go to front page of Sonder to search for destinations that fits the criteria I am trying to look for, so that I can see the related search results and select the location that looks desirable.

Biz goal

Users will be able to search for destinations they would like to visit and filter the search results to their own taste and satisfaction.
Adoption and satisfaction. Our main competitor google trip and Tripadvisor has a similar feature that lets users plan their trip, but they do not show an estimated cost to spend.

Use Case

Name
"Welcome Search Bar"

Description
Search for trip destinations and tailor the results to personal satisfaction

Precondition
User is on the front page of Sonder and has internet connectivity.

Basic course of action

  1. User is on the front page of Sonder.
  2. User types in name of a location or keywords - eg. "San Luis Obispo"
  3. User sees a map that shows "San Luis Obispo" area and a list of related search results
  4. User filter the results by city/place/country
  5. User sees an updated list with more accurate search results

Alternative paths
If no result is found, the app will display "no result found" message.
If there is internet connectivity issue, the app will display "Can't connect to server" message.

Post Condition
When user sees the search results, they can filter the results by city/place/country. Then, they will be able to see an updated list with more accurate search results.

Adoption and satisfaction.

I don't know if this is a cut / paste error, but since you have satisfaction in bold, I'll give you credit for this being satisfaction.

For your basic course of action, you're replicating the precondition -3 points
