Overview

We need to clean up the spreadsheet so that we can better organize the work done so far

Action Items

  • Discuss with Research which tab is authoritative. It should be Audit of all Current Research Projects
  • review each tab
  • Provide an explanation of each tab
  • Update relevant WIKI page (See resources)

Review of spreadsheet tabs 2025-03-10

  • Audit of all Current Research Projects has
  • List of steps in order has 48 research steps
  • Current progress chart (data comes from list) has 29 items

Purpose of each Spreadsheet

  • Audit of all Current Research Projects:
    • List of all Research Plans
    • Steps in Order: our preliminary list of each type of template issue that they need (grouped generally by when they need to happen, but not perfect and definitely missing some steps)
  • List of steps in order has the following fields
    • Phase: This seems to be very similar to the Steps in Order on the prior sheet, but it has more items and has regrouped some things together, that need to be in a different delivery order
    • Phase #: So these numbers do not represent the correct delivery order
    • Activity: Descriptive Name of the template
    • Priority: The order the research team has determined these need to be worked on
    • Direct Dependency: empty
    • RP Needs: How many RPs need them - Which is replaced by template done if the template has been completed
    • Template Issue (Done): The Template issue if its completed?
    • Assigned: Empty
    • In Progress Issue: Template Issue Name and Link
    • Template Issue Link (in progress)
    • a more updated version of all the steps
    • RP Needs
  • Current progress chart: The prior version of "List of steps in order". Make sure that all notes from that end up on the List of steps in order before deleting.

@KC-skc discussed the tabs with Yingjie and she will update. Add this to our next pm agenda and I can help you annotate the tabs.

@bonniewolfe I've added RP022-RP026 to the tab "Audit of all Current Research Projects". I've filled out most drop-downs, but there are a few I'm not clear on.

Also, please clarify what is meant by "provide explanation of each tab." Perhaps we can discuss this at our next PM meeting.

Missing rows for RP added to TWE: Research: Outstanding items for Research Plans. Starting to check of some boxes with BW's help like status, roadmap and plans, but will need continued assistance understanding the meaning of various columns.

@ExperimentsInHonesty and @KC-skc:
I edited the macro phases of "List of steps in order" spreadsheet in TWE: Research: Outstanding items for Research Plans based on Bonnie's suggestions.

@pandanista FYI. Discussed at 4/17 All team meeting. New researcher LC will assist YO for updating new column "Part of the Program" which will focus on when the various steps are carried out in a macro context (e.g., pre-program, during program, and etc.).

@Liibrarian As discussed in the UXR meeting on 04/12, I am assigning this issue to you to come up with better ways to describe the steps/stages. Let me know if you have any questions.

Added the following categories:

  • Pre program
  • During program
  • Pre analysis
  • Analysis
  • Post analysis
  • Post program

I'm going to take a look at the Macro Phase, Phase, and Phase # columns to see if I can streamline these to make the flow clearer.

Created new tab: Revised List of Steps in Order

  • Numbered Part of the Program to enable sorting by that component
  • Re-numbered macro phases and phases to nest better
  • Added numbering to activities to facilitate understanding the correct order
  • Re-numbered Phase # to enable sorting in order independent of Part of Prgram

Need clarity on who. Example recruitment (interview participants or the researchers)

@pandanista BW is specifically talking about the activity column and making sure the steps are clearer, such as "Research plan recruitment"--who's being recruited?

Current action items for me:

  • Check template links

  • Make sure Activity column has clear descriptions of tasks (add verbs)

Question based on conversation with YO: Should some templates be connected to multiple line items?
Revision complete pending review by YO to ensure clarity and accuracy.
