External Power

The two header pins closest to the BeanCounter logo are connected to the GND and 3V inputs of the device. The on/off switch is used to separate this input from the coin cell battery such that when the switch is in the "on" position, the BeanCounter is being powered by the coin cell and when it's in the "off/ext" position, it's being powered by the external power supply.
For extended battery operation, we recommend a 2xAAA battery holder mounted to the back of the BeanCounter with 3M VHB tape. For stationery operation, like in a shipping/kitting station, a 3V "wall wart" style power supply works well.
