Earth system science is underpinned by very large n-dimensional datasets, which can typically be described ascross dimensions such as time, space, variable (e.g. temperature, precipitation), modelling experiment (e.g hindcast, future projection) and model (e.g ACCESS1-0, HadGEM2-ES).

Climate Anaysis Service

Scientific workflows are designed to recieve a homogenous piece of data as input, process it in a monotonic manner and output the results. This approach can be cumbersome when each processing step must be completed over different pieces data, each differeng over one or two dimensions. The Climate Analysis Service implements a framework that is aware of data attributes which can be used to identify data to process, and aims to be compatible with existing analysis programs and tools.
