[NEW F18] Electrical NAND Braking

How they work

When the system determines that the brakes need to drop, it activates a transistor, which turns on a solenoid, allowing air to come out of the brakes, dropping them. When the transistor is deactivated, the solenoid allows are to go from our reserve air pressure system to our brakes, pushing them back up.

The Potentiometer acts as a simple voltage divider, so we just read the voltage to see where the brake is. The potentiometer is connected to one of the axles that moves when the brake is activated.

The pressure sensor outputs an analog voltage based upon the amount of pressure that it experiences.

When they drop

  • No radio signal received for 100 milliseconds
  • Brakes activated from radio
  • Brakes
