Contributors from Apple, Mozilla, Igalia, Bocoup, Adobe, Hilton, Microsoft, Google, and many more individual web developers collaborated to kickstart a a continuous integration, interoperable, accessibility testing project in all major browsers. This collaborative effort was noted by the US Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) CVAA Biennial Report to Congress in 2024. To date, this is the only known project that stands to improve the state of accessibility across the entire web, regardless of which platform, browser, or assistive technology you may be using or testing. It's exciting work, and we made a lot of progress in 2023, but there is so much more to be done! Join the effort!
As of December 2025, there are exciting new developments allowing expansion of the Interop Accessibilty testing surface by several orders of magnitude in 2026, and we need the help of web devlopers, browser engineers, and other accessibility-interested technical contribuors. If you're interested in contributing or learning more, start by reviewing the open Issues list, or reviewing an open pull request. Also consider joining the monthly meetings.
