This repository contains documentation and links important for evaluation of TROPIC01 development shield, designed for the Mikroe Click mikroBUS form factor. More information are on MikroE website here.

Disclaimer TROPIC01 Pre-Production samples
TROPIC01 samples available and Mikroe click boards are pre-production batch which should be used for design and integration evaluation only. This early batch distributed from February 2025 went through expedited packaging and provisioning process which deviates from the actual production chips shipped later in 2025. Non-exhaustive list of deviations from the production chip specification includes:
- Devices S/N does not follow the scheme defined in TR01_ODN_app_003 - Device Identity and PKI Application Note.
- Devices P/N does not follow the scheme defined in TR01_ODN_app_004 - Packaging and Labeling Application Note, instead the devices P/N is: TROPIC01-ES.
- HW environmental sensors (such as laser detector, EM field detector) aren't activated.
- Bootloader ROM code is pre-production version (ABAB silicon revision - Bootloader version 1.0.1).
- Device key pair isn't generated by production PKI infrastructure, and device certificate list is invalid.

To interact with the TROPIC01 chip on STM32-based systems we provide the libtropic-stm32 repository, containing integration examples of our platform-independent SDK, libtropic.
Important
Before you start with various examples, we strongly recommend to do two things first:
- Read CHIP ID and TROPIC01's firmware versions and save printed output for future reference
- Update TROPIC01's both internal firmware to latest version.
In libtropic-stm32 repository, you can find specifice instruction for both operations based on hardware you use.
