django restframework v5 based backend service with python v3.12

how to run

setup

• install python 3.10 ~ 3.12 LTS and add system path on python & pip

$ python --version
Python 3.12.7 (or 3.10.11 or 3.11.9 or 3.12.8)

$ pip --version
pip 24.2 from /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pip (python 3.12)

$ pip install poetry==1.8.5
$ poetry --version
Poetry (version 1.8.5)

configure

• setup poetry virtual environment

$ poetry init
$ poetry shell
$ poetry install
$ poetry show
$ poetry env info
$ exit

• set runtime configuration

$ cat .env
SECRET_KEY="..."

• create superuser account

$ ./manage.py createsuperuser 
...
Superuser created successfully.

• apply database schema

$ ./manage.py makemigrations
No changes detected

$ ./manage.py migrate

launch

• run django app in poertry environment

$ poetry shell
$ ./manage.py runserver_plus

browse

• check django admin service in web browser

$ curl https://localhost:8000/admin

• login to admin service with superuser account

• run orm query in django shell

$ poetry shell
