Cats n' Cheese is a single-player game where players act as mice stealing cheese from cats, it's all about strategy and fun!

Created for the MeltingHack Sprint#2 Hackathon

🐱 Game Overview

• Players: 4 players (1 human, 3 computer-controlled)
• Rounds: 8 rounds per game
• Objective: Collect the most cheese cards by the end of the game

📜 How to Play

1. Setup: Each cat starts with 1-4 cheese slices.
2. Target Selection: Players secretly choose which cat to steal from by clicking on a cat card.
3. Cheese Collection:
   • If you're the only player targeting a cat, you successfully steal all its cheese!
   • If multiple players target the same cat, the cat becomes aware, and no one gets the cheese.
4. Round Progression: Cats receive new cheese each round, increasing their cheese pile.

🏆 Winning the Game

The mouse (player) with the most collected cheese at the end of 8 rounds wins!

This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

🚀 Cloning the project

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/your-username/cats-n-cheese.git
   

2. Install dependencies:

   cd cats-n-cheese
   npm install
   

3. Run the development server:

   npm run dev
   # or
   yarn dev
   # or
   pnpm dev
   # or
   bun dev

4. Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser.

🔮 Next Improvements

Here are some improvements we're considering:

1. Online Multiplayer: Implement real-time multiplayer functionality using Socket.io, allowing players to compete against friends or random opponents worldwide.

2. Mobile Responsiveness: Optimize the game for mobile devices, allowing players to enjoy Cats n' Cheese on smartphones and tablets.

3. Sound Effects and Music: Add sound effects for actions like stealing cheese or getting caught, and background music to enhance the gaming atmosphere.
