Review comments at @src/backend/core/authentication/backends.py:
- Line 60: Update the authentication backend flow that builds `claims_to_store`
so an empty mapping is persisted to clear previously stored claims instead of
being skipped as a falsey value. Add a test that logs in after claim storage is
disabled and verifies the user’s stored claims are cleared.
- Around line 54-60: Update the OIDC user-update logging path that handles the
`claims` field so changes log only the field name or otherwise redact both old
and new claim values; preserve the existing update behavior and logging for
other fields.
After applying the fix, consider running `coderabbit review --agent` for local

django-lasuite 0.0.30 OIDCAuthenticationBackend logging update_user claims source code
💡 Result:
I couldn’t verify the **`django-lasuite 0.0.30`** source for this exact OIDC backend. The project’s repository confirms `django-lasuite` is the La Suite Django library, but the available repository page doesn’t establish what that tagged release contains. ([github.com](https://github.com/suitenumerique/django-lasuite?utm_source=openai))
The closest source I could confirm is **mozilla-django-oidc’s current `main`**, not La Suite 0.0.30: it routes existing users through `update_user(user, user_info)`, and its base `update_user` returns the user unchanged. ([github.com](https://github.com/mozilla/mozilla-django-oidc/blob/main/mozilla_django_oidc/auth.py?utm_source=openai)) That does **not** establish whether La Suite 0.0.30 adds claim updates or logging.
To verify the version-specific behavior, inspect the 0.0.30 package/source for `OIDCAuthenticationBackend`, `update_user`, and logger calls. **Whether that version logs claims—and whether it logs full claim contents—remains unresolved from the sources found.**

Redact the claims value in the OIDC update log.
When a non-empty claims mapping changes for an existing active user, django-lasuite 0.0.30 logs both the old and new mapping at INFO. If configured claims contain personal data, this can write that data to application logs. Log only the field name for claims, or otherwise redact its values.

Clear stored claims when the configuration becomes empty.
If an operator changes OIDC_STORE_CLAIMS from ["picture"] to [], this line supplies {} on the next login. The pinned django-lasuite updater skips falsey field values, so it leaves the old User.claims value in the database. Make an empty claims mapping replace the stored mapping, and test a login after disabling claim storage. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the authentication backend flow that builds `claims_to_store` so an empty
mapping is persisted to clear previously stored claims instead of being skipped
as a falsey value. Add a test that logs in after claim storage is disabled and
verifies the user’s stored claims are cleared.

Add a generic claims JSON field on the user and an OIDC_STORE_CLAIMS setting listing which userinfo claims to keep, like Drive and Calendars do. The stored claims mirror the latest login: a missing claim is stored as None and a claim removed from the setting is dropped on the next login, also when the setting is emptied. A clear_user_claims command purges them in a single atomic update for users who do not log in again. Nothing is stored unless the setting is configured. Purpose
Docs discards every OIDC claim that isn't mapped to a dedicated User field,
so a deployment can't make claims like
pictureorlocaleavailable to theapp without adding a column per claim and a migration for each. Drive and
Calendars already solve this with a generic
claimsbag on the user and anOIDC_STORE_CLAIMSsetting.Proposal
Align Docs with the approach already used in Drive and Calendars:
User.claims(JSONField, default=dict) and its migrationOIDC_STORE_CLAIMSsetting (env var of the same name, default[], so behaviour is unchanged unless configured)get_extra_claims, so the existingupdate_user_if_neededrefreshes them on every loginstored as
None, a claim removed from the setting is dropped on thenext login, and emptying the setting clears them
clear_user_claims [--claim <name>]command to purge storedclaims for users who don't log in again
as
None, nothing is stored by default, claims are persisted oncreation and refreshed for existing users, and the clean-up cases
are covered
Nothing reads the stored claims yet; this only provides the storage so that
follow-ups (e.g. showing the profile picture) don't need a schema change.
