The original code renders correctly in VS Code and on GitHub, but not in https://www.scala-sbt.org/1.x/docs/Plugins.html#Publishing+a+plugin. I updated it to the extent that VS Code markdownlint doesn't show warnings about this list, but I am not sure whether this PR will completely fix it.
The original item numbers are 1, 3, and 5, which is strange.
