This PR contains some performance optimizations for caching large numbers of specs, making further improvements from #79. On a macbook pro (SSD) with the example problem in #79, caching was reduced from ~8s to ~2s.
Additionally, a bug in the query to extract specs from the DB given a selection name/tag is corrected.
