Once set up, a click of the Alert button can notify select contacts that you want them to know where you are and give them a link to see where you are in real-time. I use PubNub for the serverless communications between app and website. I also use a PubNub function in order to use the ClickSend API to send the users contacts a text with a link to the website. The website portion of this project is located here: https://github.com/SambaDialloB/SafeAlertSite
These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes. See deployment for notes on how to deploy the project on a live system.
- Clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/SambaDialloB/SafeAlert
You already have everything installed that you need from this repository!
In order to use and deploy this app, you need to replace the keys with your own in two places and create a function in your PubNub dashboard.
- Replace the placeholder keys in the setUpPubNub function in MainViewController.swift with your own Pub/Sub keys.
- Create a function to send an API call to ClickSend using the provided code in CSFunc.js or import the function from here
- Follow the instructions in the top of the CSFunc.js file for function configurations and replacement API keys. You should now be able to run the app and send texts with links to the web portion!
