VetRxVault

DEA controlled substance compliance for vet clinics that don't want to get raided

VetRxVault tracks every milligram of Schedule II–V controlled substances moving through a veterinary practice — morphine, ketamine, fentanyl, the whole formulary. It logs per-dose dispensing, captures waste attestations in real time, and fires discrepancy alerts before a variance turns into a federal violation. This is the software that should have existed a decade ago.

Features

  • Per-dose controlled substance logging with timestamped practitioner sign-off
  • Discrepancy detection engine flags variances across 47 distinct reconciliation checkpoints
  • Auto-generates DEA 222 order forms, biennial inventory reports, and audit-ready export packages
  • Native sync with your existing practice management system via the VetBridge connector
  • Unannounced inspection mode — pull a complete compliance package in under 90 seconds. One button.

Supported Integrations

Avimark, Cornerstone, ezyVet, ImproMed, Shepherd, DEA Diversion Control Division eForms Gateway, VetBridge, RxNova, PharmaSync, DrugVault API, Stripe, QuickBooks Online

Architecture

VetRxVault runs as a set of decoupled microservices behind an Nginx reverse proxy, with each service owning its own data domain and communicating over an internal message bus. All controlled substance transaction records are stored in MongoDB for its flexible document model and high-throughput write performance. Session state and real-time alert queues are persisted in Redis, which also handles the long-term audit log cache that inspectors pull from during on-site reviews. The frontend is a React SPA that talks exclusively to a versioned REST API — nothing hits the database directly, ever.
