This is the repository for the website of the Core Bioinformatics team at the Quadram Institute Bioscience (Norwich, UK).
The site is live at quadram-institute-bioscience.github.io, built and deployed automatically via GitHub Pages.
Core Bioinformatics provides institute-wide infrastructure, pipelines, and bespoke methods for microbial genomics and metagenomics, supporting QIB research groups across the full data lifecycle — from raw sequencing data to biological insight. See the about page for details on the team's work, compute platforms, and open-science commitments.
This website was built starting from Jekyll Serif, a theme by Zerostatic Themes (theme page), released under the MIT license.
Since adopting the theme, the site has undergone significant customisation, including:
- A redesigned, sticky top navigation bar using the institute's colour palette
- Custom Core Bioinformatics branding, logos, and illustrations
- New/updated pages and content structures specific to the team
- Accessibility improvements (skip links, focus states, contrast fixes)
- Various other layout, styling, and configuration changes
- Jekyll 4.1
