Configuring your Plex Library
So to start with, download XBMCnfoMoviesImporter.bundle-for-plex and rename it to XBMCnfoMoviesImporter.bundle
.
If you wish to have posters included from NFOBuilder, please instead use Bubba8291's XBMCnfoMoviesImporter fork, and name it XBMCnfoMoviesImporter.bundle
Place this folder into your Plex Plugins folder:
- Find your Plex Media Server Data folder
- Move
XBMCnfoMoviesImporter.bundle
toPlex Media Server\Plug-ins
folder - Restart your Plex Media Server
Note
It should look something like this:
Inside the folder should be Contents
folder, .gitignore
file, and README.md
file
Let's say we're setting up a new library as usual, from the sidebar click +
I have had the most luck using "Movies" as the library type:
You want the Scanner
to be set to Plex Movie Scanner
, and the Agent
To be XBMCnfoMoviesImporter
The rest of the settings I have as below:
Now, once you add your video files to Plex, add the NFO generated by this program to the same directory as the video file, with the same name as the file.
For example:
Waitress - Broadway - April 2019 - SCJ.mp4
Waitress - Broadway - April 2019 - SCJ.nfo
Finally, within Plex, choose the 3 dots menu when viewing the item and Refresh Metadata
.
You can also do this from Library > Manage Library > Refresh All Metadata
for bulk additions
You should now have nice metadata for all of your shows!
