This repository serves a single purpose: providing an automated, privacy-first way for developers to opt out of DevIndex.
No account, no form, no correspondence required — and no explanation owed.
Star this repository at the top right of this page.
- Our automated discovery pipeline runs hourly.
- It detects your star, automatically verifying your GitHub identity.
- Your GitHub username is added to our blocklist.
- Your profile data is purged from the active database and from discovery tracking.
Note: You can safely un-star this repository after a few hours. The removal is permanent — the blocklist is enforced on every subsequent pipeline run, so you are not re-indexed later by a Spider that rediscovers you.
Starring leaves the smallest public trace. If you open an issue instead, that issue stays visible in this repository's history as a public audit log — which is deliberate, because it makes our moderation trail checkable, but it is not what everyone wants. If you would rather not leave that trace, star the repository and do not open an issue.
| Repository | Purpose |

| neomjs/devindex | The application and the Data Factory that enforces this blocklist |
| neomjs/devindex-opt-in | Opt-in and nomination requests, if you change your mind |
For our data aggregation practices and the full removal guarantee, read the Privacy & Opt-Out Guide. For why the index exists at all, see The Ethical Manifesto.
Bugs and feature requests belong on the DevIndex tracker — this repository is for opt-out requests only.
