### 1. **VT (ml):** Tidal Volume
### 2. **MV (L/min):** Minute Ventilation
### 3. **PEEP (mbar):** Positive EndExpiratory Pressure
### 4. **ARDS:** Acute Respiratory Stress Syndrome
### 5. **FiO2 (in %):** Fraction of inspired oxygen
### 6. **PaO2 (mmHg):** partial arterial oxygen pressure
### 7. **PaO2/FiO2 (Horovitz Index):** Example: A patient has a PaO2 of 100 mmHg. They are oxygenated with 50% oxgen. The horovitz index would be 100 mmHg / 0.5 = 200 mmHg.
### 8. **SaO2** Oxygen saturation
### 9. **Driving-Pressure** Pmax - PEEP
### 10. **Lung protective ventilation** Ventilation without causing further damage to the lungs by applying to much/little pressure whicch may lead to tears/total collapse, respectively
### 11. **I:E (t/t):** Relation between inspiration and expiration time
### 12. **Flow** (L/min):
_Inspiration flow:_ Influx velocity of air during inspiration
_Fresh gas flow:_ Amount of fresh gas being introduced to the breathing air
### 13. **PCV:** Pressure Controlled Ventilation
