Your best application, for every role.
A job application system built on measurable scoring, deterministic ATS checks, and rigorously evaluated AI. Rectangle One makes sure your resume, your applications, and your cover letters are working as hard as you are.
Status: Public Beta (v0.3.0)
Most rejections happen before a human ever reads your name. Your resume didn't match the keywords. Your cover letter opened with "I am writing to express my interest." Your application format broke the ATS parser somewhere between upload and review.
None of that has anything to do with whether you can do the job.
Rectangle One doesn't pretend the system is fair. But it helps you navigate it with tools that are honest about what they're measuring, and why.
- Resume Builder - Scores your resume across four dimensions (relevance, structure, impact, presentation) against a published, versioned rubric. Specific criteria, applied consistently, every time.
- Power Apply - Paste in a job description. Rectangle One rewrites your resume to raise keyword coverage by an average of 18 percentage points, while keeping your experience truthful. Titles are never changed to force a false fit. Numbers are never invented.
- Cover Letters - Generated from your actual resume. Specific to the role, specific to the organisation. Zero filler phrases, zero fabricated credentials.
- Application Tracking - Track every role, every stage, every follow-up in one place.
- ATS Audit - A deterministic module that checks your resume against 20+ ATS compatibility rules. No AI involved. Every run produces the same result.
- Career Coach - Knows your resume, your applications, and your target roles. Answers from your actual context, not a generic template.
Rectangle One produces three distinct signals:
| Signal | Feature | Output |
|---|---|---|
| General quality | Resume Score | 0-100 overall + 4 parameter scores + reasons |
| Application fit | Application Score | 0-100 fit + 3 parameter scores + JD coverage |
| ATS readiness | ATS Audit (deterministic) | 0-100 + blocker/warning/info findings |
The full scoring methodology is published in docs/methodology.md so users and reviewers can replicate our claims rather than taking them on trust.
Every scoring flow is tested against a published evaluation methodology before any model goes into production.
- Reliability - Score the same resume three times. The headline score should move by no more than +/-5 points. Current result: 100% of our 45-resume test corpus meets this bar.
- Fairness - Swap a candidate's name, school, or location for a demographically different version. The score should not move. We run 225 perturbation checks per evaluation cycle and publish every case where the methodology catches something.
- Faithfulness - Every AI rewrite suggestion is scanned for tokens that were not in your original resume before you see it. Novel numbers, proper nouns, and acronyms are flagged.
