you can't override the patron icon color like that. It has a meaning: https://lichess.org/patron

This calls for a global change of how user status is displayed. It can no longer be conflated with the patron status.

So probably we should now have something like this:

[1: offline/online/playing] [2: patronWing] [3: username] [4: flair]

1. gray dot / green dot / red dot ? or something else to indicate playing
2. colored patron wing if any, else nothing
3. username
4. flair if any

Hmm not sure. I don't dislike the current system of having the online/patron wing have multiple purposes.
It might be a bit overwhelming to have that many things in the username? 🤔
It would allow for the wing patron color to always be visible which is nice, since now its hidden if disconnected...

Could also try the other ideas I had for the wing + playing before that:

• a pulsating animation that changes from wing color to playing color and back?
• a shadow effect behind the wing?
• a small dot next to the wing to indicate that you are playing?

Mobile App use this way for accessibility reasons
People who are colorblind have difficulty seeing colors, so they use the connection icon.
