I changed the open child process to explicitly run a terminal. Also, said terminal can be chosen in the settings pane, much like how the Linux version works.

I changed the "open" child process (for Mac) to explicitly run a terminal. Also, said terminal can be chosen in the settings pane, much like how the Linux version works.
Hopefully, this will help some people with running their code, as it did for me.
