Incorporating some feedback and small fixes throughout mostly Chapter 5

These changes look great @ktaletsk! I had a small comment, but its not major. If you think it’s ready, feel free to merge!

FWIW I had a to pause for a second, because the term "symbol" had me confused about the meaning in this sentence, but it helped to look at the other examples to remember and understand how it was being used..
