edw.py is a Python project based on the os library and some ideas to create an almost-terminal with understandable command names.
Created on January 2021 (4 years ago).
Latest update on February 2025.
- Code is cleaner, with a reorganized structure.
- Some changes to old commands.
- Added new commands (see code for details).
- Connected to a database (using sqlite3) to store usage history.
I hope you like this mini project, and I'm excited to see your pull requests! 😄🔥
- Some commands are available only for Windows and Linux; they may not work on iOS (see code comments).
- To execute a command, use the format:
<command>$<more_party>(e.g.,write$ hello world). - As in Linux, some commands display nothing when executed; if you redirect the result to a file (overwriting), the file may be empty.
- The reboot$ and chrome$ commands work only on Windows.
- For errors or suggestions, please leave a review.
