Refine Desktop UI Styling

Refined the desktop React UI layout and styling to closer match the user's preferred modern minimalist aesthetic (e.g., Claude Desktop, Cursor). The changes soften background colors to zinc grays, remove strict layout borders for a more open feel, round out message bubbles and the input area, and significantly improve markdown code block legibility. These changes are exclusively visual via Tailwind CSS and global.css. All tests and linters pass.
