Summary of Changes

Hello @hsubox76, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request updates the default AI model used for hybrid in-cloud inference. The change is necessitated by the retirement of the 'gemini-2.0-flash-lite' model, ensuring that the system continues to use a supported and up-to-date model, 'gemini-2.5-flash-lite', for its operations. This is a maintenance update to keep the AI integration current.

Highlights

  • Default AI Model Update: The default hybrid in-cloud model has been updated from 'gemini-2.0-flash-lite' to 'gemini-2.5-flash-lite' to ensure continued functionality with a supported model.
  • Changelog Entry: A new changeset file was added to document this minor version update for the '@firebase/ai' package, reflecting the model change.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request updates the default hybrid in-cloud model from gemini-2.0-flash-lite to gemini-2.5-flash-lite to address the retirement of the former model. The change is simple and correctly implemented by updating the DEFAULT_HYBRID_IN_CLOUD_MODEL constant.

While the change itself is correct, I noticed that the integration test file packages/ai/integration/generate-content.test.ts contains hardcoded references to 'gemini-2.0-flash-lite-001', which is related to the model being retired. These tests will likely need to be updated to prevent future failures. Since this file was not part of the pull request, I'm mentioning it here for your consideration.
