What is it?

Electronic speech aids, which ‘speak’ set words or phrases when a sequence of symbols are pressed, can be life-changing for people with severe speech-language impairments, but current devices are expensive even in economically developed countries.

The Open Voice Factory provides free speech aid software by converting communication boards into communication devices.

Where is it?

You can access OVF with the default CommuniKate 20 board here: https://equalitytime.github.io/ovfplayer/#/main

How do I change the settings?

To change the settings of any OVF board you are on, replace the /main at the end of the URL with /config.

So your settings for the default board are here: https://equalitytime.github.io/ovfplayer/#/config

Saving the settings will reload the main board page.

How do I customise the content?

To use custom content (ie not just the default board) you can change the setttings to point to any OpenBoardFormat board or board set that is hosted on the internet.

To generate a board set from a power point presentation (and get a hosted link to use) follow the instructions here: https://www.theopenvoicefactory.org/#create
