Roadmap & Architecture Updates

Since the initial roadmap, we have successfully completed several key tasks: deployment (moving from AWS to Vercel due to free-tier constraints), implementing logging with Sentry, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and establishing a unit testing framework. Our updated architecture diagram (from A3) now reflects these decisions: the deployment target has been changed from AWS to Vercel. This adjustment was made to streamline the development process, leverage more accessible hosting services, and ensure smooth automated testing and continuous integration. Overall, this change has not significantly impacted the project timeline, and we remain on schedule.

Feature: We developed a prototype of our MVP using Figma and used it to conduct a UX research study with potential users. Both the prototype and the study results are included in the user research report. We also reflected on our current progress and updated our roadmap accordingly. This involved updating the status of completed issues, postponing the planned finish date for unfinished objectives, and revising the roadmap document. Finally, we also updated our planned use cases based on feedback from the use case review with the instructor.

Feature: This document reflects VChart’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive EMR solution that meets the diverse needs of nurses and patients across North America. We proposed 3 use cases we plan on implementing for our MVP. We discussed and decided on our tech stack, and added a number of Architecture Decision Review files to keep track of the reasonings behind our decisions. We've also compiled these decisions into an architecture diagram for easy review. Finally, we set up the project roadmap to give us a clear idea of what to focus on in the future through GitHub Projects, GitHub Issues, and GitHub Milestones.
