current digest that is calculated:

not sorted, only on the first three columns (the regions)

We want to add a digest that is for the first three columns after they've been sorted.

Digest for sorted bed file (first three cols of bedfile) -> Should this be the primary digest (primary way to identify the regions)?

What happens when you have two bed files that have the exact same regions?

There may be another open issue that the discusses the above point.
