sbt-protofetch 0.1.0
We are excited to announce the first public release of the sbt-protofetch plugin! Although this plugin is new, it has been thoroughly tested and used internally at Coralogix. Most of the heavy lifting is handled by the protofetch tool, which is a mature and production-proven solution.
The sbt-protofetch plugin leverages protofetch to download Protobuf definition files. It is designed as a replacement for the sbt-protodep plugin, which was commonly used to integrate protofetch into sbt projects.
The primary distinction between sbt-protofetch and sbt-protodep lies in its flexibility. Unlike sbt-protodep, which was tailored to the ScalaPB and ZIO gRPC toolchain, sbt-protofetch makes no assumptions about how the downloaded Protobuf files will be used.
That said, you can of course still configure ScalaPB to use Protobuf files downloaded by sbt-protofetch. For details, refer to the Usage section of the README.
