This project is no longer receiving regular updates from Buoyant Data. This repository is provided as-is for archival and reference purposes. |
oxbow-glue contains the AWS Glue-related Lambda functions that were
originally developed as part of the
oxbow project. The git history of this
repository was extracted from oxbow with git filter-branch, preserving
every commit that touched the Glue lambdas.
Located in lambdas/glue-create/.
Receives S3 bucket notifications when a new Delta Lake table is created and
creates the appropriate table entry in the AWS Glue Data Catalog. It handles
the custom renaming logic needed to accommodate the two-layer hierarchy of the
Glue Data Catalog (database and table name).
See glue-create docs for environment variables and further details.
Located in lambdas/glue-sync/.
Keeps AWS Glue Data Catalog entries in sync with the schemas of Delta Lake tables. Triggered by S3 Event Notifications; when a table schema changes it loads the Delta table, compares its schema to the Glue Data Catalog entry, and modifies the entry where necessary.
See glue-sync docs for environment variables and further details.
This repository preserves the original directory layout from the oxbow
monorepo:
-
lambdas/glue-create/— theglue-createLambda -
lambdas/glue-sync/— theglue-syncLambda -
tests/data/— Delta Lake table fixtures used by the unit tests
This repository is its own Cargo workspace (lambdas/*). The lambdas depend
on the buoyant-oxbow-lambda-shared crate, which remains in the
oxbow repository and is referenced by a
path dependency that expects a sibling checkout of oxbow:
git clone https://github.com/buoyant-data/oxbow ../oxbow
cargo build
cargo nextest run
