These 2 tests failed when running in US Eastern Standard Time. The total difference of 18 hours pointed to the difference between GMT+13 (New Zealand) and GMT-5 (US EST). I've updated the tests to not make hard assumptions about how the time gets interpreted, since the object under test does not know the timezone in which the data was originally created.
I realize that this project is no longer maintained, but I wanted to make this apparent in case anyone else ran into the same issue I did with the tests failing.
