Philosophy
At anotherkrunkerclient, we place a high value on the principles of Free Open-Source Software (FOSS), and we are dedicated to upholding these values in the development of our client.
Unfortunately, in recent times, many Krunker clients have opted to lock down their source code and even obfuscate their compiled apps in an attempt to prevent unauthorized replication. However, we believe that this kind of secrecy is unnecessary and counterproductive.
Instead, we choose to embrace the FOSS philosophy of collaboration and open development. By making our code freely available to others, we can encourage a culture of innovation and progress that benefits the entire community. We welcome others to build upon our work, and in turn, we can learn from their contributions, thereby advancing the state of the art.
That's why we have chosen to license this project under the strict copyleft license, GPL-3.0, which allows anyone to copy, modify and distribute the software, provided they adhere to certain guidelines. This license ensures that any modifications are distributed with the same license and that the code remains open source.
In a nutshell ...
1. Anyone can copy, modify and distribute this software.
2. You have to include the license and copyright notice with each and every distribution.
3. You can use this software privately.
4. You can use this software for commercial purposes.
5. If you dare build your business solely from this code, you risk open-sourcing the whole code base.
6. If you modify it, you have to indicate changes made to the code.
7. Any modifications of this code base MUST be distributed with the same license, GPLv3.
8. This software is provided without warranty.
9. The software author or license can not be held liable for any damages inflicted by the software.
You are allowed to fork, boilerplate and modify this client to your will, as long as you distribute it under the same license and keep it open source!
Our goal is to create a client that is truly Libre, and we believe that an open-source approach is the best way to achieve that.
By keeping the code open, we can create a community of developers and users who can help to improve and refine the client over time. Additionally, an open-source approach helps democratize access and ensures that the client remains accessible to everyone, without any licensing fees or restrictions.
