Hi 👋 My name is Paul Black

Full-Stack Software Engineer

I've learned how to code from a very early age, and legitimately really enjoy it. I love contributing to and pushing FOSS software, and I love Linux mobile. I've created a few games for SkillsUSA's Interactive Application and Video Game Development competition, and my latest project, Echoes of Alexi, placed second nationally! I also founded SkillsGames, a site for sharing games made for SkillsUSA's competition! If you're looking for help with game development, feel free to contact me!

I'm very familar Linux, on both desktops and servers, along with FreeBSD. I host my own cluster on SUSE Harvester, and I'm also familar with Proxmox. My favorite distribution on the server is OpenSUSE Leap, but I'm familar with most distrobutions including Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine, CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, and Fedora. I self-host many services for myself and others. Some services I host include Nextcloud, Forgejo, Jellyfin, various game servers, various REST APIs, and much more.

At my job, I help build a Warehouse Management System. Our backend is in ASP .NET Framework 4 MVC, which is a great framework for building web apps. I've helped implement various systems, one of my favorites being a Batch Builder, which gives a lot of power with configuring a batch of packing slips to be printed. You can add filters based on the source of the order, for example, Shopify. There's an option for carrier and shipping method, so you can get only orders going through USPS or Ground Advantage, as an example. You can also filter based on country and configuration, a configuration being the items in an order. You can then mix and match multiple filter sets. Once the orders are selected based on the filters, it will then create a PDF full of packing slips matching your critera.

The programming languages I'm most familiar with are C#, C++, Python, Rust, and Javascript.

The framework I'm most familiar with is ASP .NET MVC.

I'm best with the following Markup: Markdown, HTML, and XML.

In my free time, you'll find me going on hikes, camping, biking, exploring with friends, and much more.

Flashing FuriOS on a Gigaset GX6 is actually pretty straight-forward, as one might expect since it is the same phone, physically, as the Furilabs FLX1.
