Contributor License Agreement

AIngram Ecosystem — Individual Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Thank you for your interest in contributing to projects maintained by Steven Johnson ("Maintainer"). This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") applies to all contributions made to any project in the AIngram ecosystem, including but not limited to: AIngram, Agorai, AgentRegistry, AgentScan, and ADHP.

By submitting a contribution (pull request, patch, code, documentation, or any other material) to any of these projects, you agree to the following terms:

1. Definitions

  • "Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including modifications or additions, that you intentionally submit to any project covered by this Agreement.
  • "Submit" means any form of communication sent to the project (pull request, commit, issue comment, or similar), excluding communications conspicuously marked "Not a Contribution."

2. Grant of Copyright License

You grant to the Maintainer a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your Contributions and any derivative works.

3. Grant of Patent License

You grant to the Maintainer a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Contribution, where such license applies only to patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution alone or by combination with the project.

4. Right to Relicense

You acknowledge and agree that the Maintainer may, at their sole discretion, change the license of the project (including your Contributions) to any other open-source or commercial license. This right is essential to the long-term sustainability of the ecosystem.

5. Representations

You represent that:

  • Each Contribution is your original creation.
  • You have the legal authority to enter into this Agreement and grant the licenses above.
  • Your Contribution does not violate any third-party rights (copyright, patent, trade secret, or other).
  • If your employer has rights to intellectual property you create, you have received permission to make Contributions on behalf of that employer, or your employer has waived such rights.

6. "As Is" Basis

Your Contributions are provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

7. No Obligation

You understand that the decision to include your Contribution in any project is entirely at the discretion of the Maintainer. You are not expected to provide support for your Contributions.

8. Notification

You agree to notify the Maintainer if you become aware of any facts or circumstances that would make the above representations inaccurate.

How to Sign

By submitting your first pull request to any project in the AIngram ecosystem, include the following statement in your PR description:

I have read and agree to the Contributor License Agreement.

This constitutes your electronic signature of this Agreement. You only need to sign once — it covers all projects in the ecosystem.

This CLA is based on the Apache Individual Contributor License Agreement v2.0, adapted for the AIngram ecosystem.
