In KLEP (Key-Lock Executable Process), the interplay between ethics, emotions, and decision-making is a foundational principle. The system posits that emotions are not merely reactive states but are symbolic representations of ongoing ethical evaluations. This concept draws inspiration from philosophical traditions while proposing a new paradigm for AI cognition.

- Jean-Jacques Rousseau: Believed that emotions like empathy are foundational to morality, aligning with the idea that emotional states reflect ethical stances toward others.

- Friedrich Nietzsche: His concept of ressentiment illustrates how distorted ethical evaluations can manifest emotionally.

KLEP extends these ideas by positioning emotions as active participants in ethical decision-making. The system models the process as:
