ELYM316 introduced continuous-time and discrete-time signals, linear time-invariant (LTI) systems, Fourier and Laplace transform techniques, filtering, sampling, modulation, reconstruction, and MATLAB-based signal analysis. The module connected mathematical descriptions of signals with practical modelling, visualisation, and interpretation.
This repository documents my laboratory work, MATLAB simulations, signal-analysis scripts, verified laboratory performance, and reflections from the module. It is organised as an academic and technical portfolio so that each item has context, reproducible code, and a clear connection to the concepts studied.
My laboratory work in ELYM316 – Introduction to Signals and Systems was one of my strongest practical components of the semester, with an overall lab average of 94%.
Some highlights included:
- 100% for the radioactive decay simulation lab
- 95% for probability distributions
- 95% for step and impulse response of LTI systems
- 93% for the Fast Fourier Transform lab
These labs helped me become more confident with MATLAB-based signal modelling, frequency-domain analysis, numerical simulation, and LTI system behaviour.
Only verified laboratory marks are presented here. No final module mark is claimed.

Before publishing any report, student numbers, contact information, other students' details, private metadata, lecturer-only material, and institutional question sheets should be removed.
This repository is intended as an academic portfolio. It contains my own work, reflections, MATLAB scripts, summaries, and selected supporting material. Original submitted reports are included only as evidence of completed work, while institutional lab instructions and question sheets have been excluded or summarised in my own words.
