Hush Glossary
Welcome to the Hush Glossary! There is a lot of terminology/acronyms to learn if you are new to cryptocoins and blockchains, so this document is a handy place to look up various terms. Some are hard to search for, here they are in one convenient place:
Ticker for original Bitcoin.
Ticker for new-ish Bitcoin Cash.
An extension layer that adds assets and smarts contracts to Bitcoin
Ticker for the Ethereum Network
Both the name of our network and the name of our currency.
A zero knowledge messaging protocol built on top of Hush
The protocol which Hush Messenger uses, which is compatible with any Zcash-based blockchain
A program that does computations and is rewarded Hush when it is the first to respond with a correct solution on the network.
A group of miners that work together and share profits proportionately, instead of being all-or-none. Most individual miners are part of pools, since the largest miners are so much faster than small miners and so small miners would almost never "win the race".
A test copy of a production cryptocoin network, which test transactions can happen on. Used to verify new features, test out new spec changes, etc...
Cross chain atomic swaps
The currency of the CounterParty spec.
The Hush Counterparty token
A blockchain that is upstream from Hush, which Hush inherits all it's Zero-Knowledge features from.
Another zcash-derived blockchain, Zencoin
The original Zcash network, which has founders fee forever.
