Visit this page to download the Windows version:
Look for the latest release and choose the Windows file that fits your system. In most cases, you will see one of these:
- A
.exefile - A
.zipfile - A setup file for Windows
If you see a .zip file, unzip it before you start the app. If you see a .exe file, you can usually open it right away.
Before you start, make sure your PC has:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- At least 8 GB of RAM
- 2 GB of free disk space
- An internet connection
- Permission to run apps on your computer
For the best result, keep your system updated and close apps you do not need while running mateclaw.

When you open mateclaw for the first time, set up the app with the details you use for your AI service or local model. The app may ask for:
- An API key
- A model name
- A server address
- A workspace folder
If you are not sure what to enter, start with the default values shown in the app. You can change them later.
After setup, you can:
- Start a new chat
- Save a note
- Add memory items
- Create a task plan
- Connect a tool
mateclaw can store useful details from past chats. This helps it remember names, tasks, ideas, and context across sessions.
Skills help the app handle specific jobs. You can use them for tasks like:
- Writing
- Planning
- Summarizing
- Searching
- Organizing notes
The app can split a task into smaller parts and work through them in order. This is useful when you need help with a larger job.
mateclaw can connect to external tools through MCP. This helps the app work with other services and local tools.
You can use mateclaw across more than one chat channel. It supports common bots and chat setups, which makes it useful for team use.
When a new version comes out:
- Go to the release page
- Download the newest Windows file
- Close the app if it is open

.zipfile - Windows did not block the file
- You have the right permissions
- Your antivirus did not move the file
