Download mateclaw

🧭 What is mateclaw?

MateClaw is a desktop app that helps you chat with an AI assistant, keep notes, and organize tasks in one place. It is built for people who want a second brain that can remember past work, help with plans, and support different chat channels.

You can use it to:

  • Save useful notes and ideas
  • Chat with an assistant that keeps context
  • Link memory to past tasks and decisions
  • Use agents that can break down work into steps
  • Connect with tools through MCP
  • Work across chat platforms like Discord, Telegram, Feishu, and DingTalk

📥 Download mateclaw for Windows

Visit this page to download the Windows version:

Download from GitHub Releases

Look for the latest release and choose the Windows file that fits your system. In most cases, you will see one of these:

  • A .exe file
  • A .zip file
  • A setup file for Windows

If you see a .zip file, unzip it before you start the app. If you see a .exe file, you can usually open it right away.

🖥️ What you need

Before you start, make sure your PC has:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • At least 8 GB of RAM
  • 2 GB of free disk space
  • An internet connection
  • Permission to run apps on your computer

For the best result, keep your system updated and close apps you do not need while running mateclaw.

🚀 Getting started on Windows

  1. Open the release page: mateclaw releases

  2. Find the latest release near the top of the page.

  3. Under the Assets list, choose the Windows download.

  4. If the file ends in .zip, right-click it and choose Extract All.

  5. Open the extracted folder.

  6. If the file ends in .exe, double-click it to start.

  7. If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes.

  8. Wait for the app to open.

🗂️ First run steps

When you open mateclaw for the first time, set up the app with the details you use for your AI service or local model. The app may ask for:

  • An API key
  • A model name
  • A server address
  • A workspace folder

If you are not sure what to enter, start with the default values shown in the app. You can change them later.

After setup, you can:

  • Start a new chat
  • Save a note
  • Add memory items
  • Create a task plan
  • Connect a tool

💬 Main things you can do

🧠 Memory

mateclaw can store useful details from past chats. This helps it remember names, tasks, ideas, and context across sessions.

🧩 Skills

Skills help the app handle specific jobs. You can use them for tasks like:

  • Writing
  • Planning
  • Summarizing
  • Searching
  • Organizing notes

🤖 Multi-agent flow

The app can split a task into smaller parts and work through them in order. This is useful when you need help with a larger job.

🔌 MCP support

mateclaw can connect to external tools through MCP. This helps the app work with other services and local tools.

🌐 Multi-channel support

You can use mateclaw across more than one chat channel. It supports common bots and chat setups, which makes it useful for team use.

🛠️ How to update

When a new version comes out:

  1. Go to the release page
  2. Download the newest Windows file
  3. Close the app if it is open
  4. Replace the old files if needed
  5. Open the new version

If you use a .zip build, keep your data folder in a safe place before you replace files.

🔐 Common setup checks

If the app does not start, check these items:

  • The file finished downloading
  • You extracted the .zip file
  • Windows did not block the file
  • You have the right permissions
  • Your antivirus did not move the file

If the chat screen opens but nothing works, check:

  • Your API key
  • Your model name
  • Your network connection
  • Your local server address, if you use one
