MathGov exists to improve consequential decision-making without sacrificing rights, truth, vulnerable groups, or shared life-support systems. Participation in this repository therefore carries a higher standard than ordinary disagreement.
Contributors and reviewers should:
- critique claims, evidence, equations, assumptions, and implementations rather than attacking people;
- identify uncertainty, conflicts of interest, affected groups, and plausible failure modes;
- protect privacy and avoid publishing personal or security-sensitive information;
- represent sources and opposing positions accurately;
- distinguish empirical findings from interpretation, proposal, and metaphor;
- disclose material use of automated tools when it affects authorship, verification, or reproducibility;
- accept correction when evidence changes;
- avoid coercion, harassment, discrimination, threats, or retaliation.
Unacceptable conduct includes harassment, dehumanization, intimidation, deliberate misinformation, discriminatory exclusion, doxxing, sexualized conduct directed at another participant, undisclosed manipulation of evidence, or using the project to facilitate rights violations or high-consequence harm.
Maintainers may edit, reject, lock, remove, or report contributions that violate this code. Serious or repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent exclusion from project spaces. Enforcement decisions should identify the violated rule, preserve relevant evidence, minimize unnecessary disclosure, and provide a proportionate appeal path when safety permits.
