MagicBus

MagicBus is a social-GPS for public transport made in Calabria and opendata based. MagicBus was an app light and easy to use on Android device.

History

• The MagicBus project starts in November 2012 for a master exam.
• In 2013 MagicTeam arrived to TechGarage the final round of StartCup Calabria, this result allowed access to SMAU Milano 2013. In the same year MagicBus access the program Microsoft Bizspark.
• In 2014 MagicBus switched from GMaps to OSM.
• In 2015 the team received the invitation to Matera ODDIt from the hacker collective unMonastery to discuss about civic hacking for local public transport.
• In 2016 MagicBus open the code, each city can have its own MagicBus
• In 2018 the MagicTeam shut down the server but the code is still available.

The cities in MagicBus were:

• Cosenza
• Rende
• Palermo
• Matera
• Milano
• Pisa
• Trento
• Torino
• other cities added by users using the wiki
