Clippy Rust 1.85 uninlined_format_args lint default group style documentation
💡 Result:
As of Rust 1.85, the Clippy lint uninlined_format_args is categorized as pedantic and is allow-by-default [1][2]. The lint's history and configuration details are as follows: 1. Lint Group: Although it was previously promoted to the style group (making it warn-by-default) in earlier versions [3][4], it was subsequently moved back to pedantic [1][2]. 2. Purpose: The uninlined_format_args lint detects when a variable is passed as a separate argument to a format macro (like println!, format!, etc.) instead of being inlined directly into the format string (e.g., format!("{var}") instead of format!("{}", var)) [5][6]. 3. Configuration: The lint supports a configuration option, allow-mixed-uninlined-format-args (default: true), which determines whether the lint triggers when only some arguments can be inlined [7][6]. If set to false, the lint becomes more aggressive, suggesting inlining even in cases of mixed usage [5][4]. In Rust 1.85, an enhancement was introduced allowing uninlined_format_args (along with other related lints) to support third-party format macros if they are marked with the #[clippy::format_args] attribute [8][1].

Rust standard library String FromIterator String format! allocation each item documentation
💡 Result:
In Rust, the allocation behavior of String when using Iterator::collect and the format! macro is designed to be efficient but varies based on the specific inputs and the information available to the compiler. ### Iterator::collect into String When you collect an iterator into a String, Rust uses the FromIterator trait implementation for String [1][2]. Its allocation strategy is not guaranteed by the standard library and is exempt from stability guarantees [1][2]. However, in practice: * If the iterator provides a size_hint (via Iterator::size_hint), the implementation may use that information to pre-allocate memory for the String buffer [1][2][3]. * If the size_hint is accurate, this can significantly reduce or eliminate reallocations [4][3]. * When collecting chars or strings, the size_hint may not always perfectly predict the required byte count in UTF-8, which could lead to subsequent reallocations if the initial capacity is insufficient [5]. * For an iterator of Strings, the implementation is optimized to reuse the buffer of the first element if possible, avoiding at least one allocation [3]. ### The format! Macro The format! macro is designed to create a new String using interpolation [6]. It is implemented using the format_args! macro, which creates an opaque fmt::Arguments structure on the stack without heap allocation [7][8][9]. * The format! macro internally calls a function that estimates the required capacity by examining the fmt::Arguments structure [9][5]. * It uses this estimate to call String::with_capacity once before formatting, aiming to avoid multiple reallocations during the write process [9][5]. * The accuracy of this estimate depends on the format string and the types of the arguments being formatted [5]. ### Summary of Performance Considerations * To avoid multiple reallocations, providing an accurate size hint in custom iterators can help collect() [4][3]. * If you know the final size in advance, String::with_capacity() is often the most efficient way to build a string, as it bypasses the need for the runtime to guess or grow the buffer dynamically [10][11]. * Macros like write! and writeln! are preferred over format! when you want to write output directly to an existing buffer or stream (e.g., a file or stdout), as they avoid the overhead of allocating a new String altogether [7][8][9].

In `@packages/colors/bench/wasm.json` around lines 32 - 35, Replace the
non-canonical WASM size in rawBytes and policy.maxRawBytes with the value from a
successful canonical linux-x64 run, then update WASM_BUDGET_FILE_SHA256 to match
the resulting budget file.

Summary
R-07 (R3s) Scoped Restorative Auto — PR-A: Type Foundation only.
This PR introduces the declared-restorative substrate types that DeclaredRestorativeAutoRelease will later bind into a content-addressed package. It operates purely on TechnicalQuality + declared-restoration evidence and never implies any form of human-clean authority or readability/sentiment admission (those belong to R-08).
