Troubleshooting
This page lists several issues that you may be encountering during gameplay, and solutions to them. If this page didn't help you, feel free to contact us, and we will add your issue to this list.
If you are playing the game on an emulator, keep in mind emulators aren't perfect, and you may be experiencing an emulation error. If that's the case, we recommend you use a better emulator.
When I start the game, I get stuck at a screen telling me the game should be played on a Game Boy Color !
The game can only be played on a Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, or Game Boy Advance SP. If you are using an emulator, make sure it is set to emulate the Game Boy Color.
Your emulator is terrible and it should feel bad. Use a better one.
When you see a little arrow blink in the bottom-right corner of the textbox, press A to advance. Alternatively, you can hold B to quickly skip through text. If the text does not advance despite pressing either button, you're either using a bad emulator or your controls aren't bound to the keys you are trying to use.
The former can be solved by picking an item from this list.
The latter can be solved by either reconfiguring your controls or rolling your hand around on the keyboard/controller until it does work, then using those buttons instead.
The game uses the largest amount of memory available for saving (128 kB). Unfortunately, a lot of emulators (and flashcarts !) seem to lack support for it, and instead provide only a quarter of the required size (32 kB). When that happens, Aevilia goes into a "compatibility mode", which sadly means you only get one save and no backup.
That's your choice, but you're really not gonna enjoy all the problems that brings, which will make you not enjoy the game. We want you to enjoy our game. Do you see the issue here? :P
