Siemens NX 2026 provides professional tools for engineering design, simulation, and manufacturing. This manual helps you download and set up the software on your Windows computer.
Your computer must meet these hardware standards to run the software. Check your system properties before you begin.
- Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
- Processor: Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD processor.
- Memory: 16 GB RAM or higher.
- Storage: 30 GB free space on an SSD.
- Graphics: A dedicated graphics card with at least 4 GB of video memory.
- Display: Screen resolution of 1920x1080 or better.
You can get the current version of the application from our release page.
- Visit this page to download.
- Look for the latest release version at the top of the list.
- Click the file with the .zip or .exe extension to save it to your computer.
- Wait for the download to finish. Do not close your browser during this process.
Follow these steps to install the application once the file finishes downloading.
- Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder.
- If the file is a .zip file, right-click it and choose Extract All. Open the new folder created by this process.
- Double-click the installer file, typically named Setup.exe or SiemensNX.exe.
- Windows might show a security prompt. Click Yes or Run anyway to start the process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the installation window. The software chooses a default location on your C drive. We suggest keeping this default location.
- Click Next through each screen. Read the license agreement and accept the terms to proceed.
- Click Install once you reach the final step.
- Wait for the progress bar to finish. This process takes several minutes depending on your computer speed.
- Click Finish to close the installer.
The software creates a shortcut on your desktop during the installation.
- Double-click the Siemens NX icon on your desktop to launch the tool.
- The software loads the main workspace and a welcome screen.
- Select "New," then choose "Model" to start your first project.
- Name your file and choose where to save it on your computer.
- Use the top toolbar to access design features like sketch, extrude, and assembly.
If the software does not open or shows an error, check these items.
- Run as Administrator: Right-click the desktop icon and select Run as administrator. This provides the permissions the software needs to operate correctly.
- Update Graphics Drivers: Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer to download the latest drivers. Outdated drivers often cause display issues.
- Check Antivirus Settings: Sometimes security software blocks new programs. Check your antivirus history to see if it quarantined any files related to the installation.
- Verify Storage: Ensure you have enough space on your hard drive. The software needs temporary space to manage project files effectively.
Siemens NX creates several file types during your design work. Keep your work organized.
- Part files: These contain individual components.
- Assembly files: These link multiple parts together into one project.
- Drawing files: These contain your 2D manufacturing drafts.
Save your work often. Create a dedicated folder for each project to keep your files in one place. Use descriptive names like "Project_A_Revision_1" to track your progress over time.
- Close unused background programs while you work on complex designs. This frees up memory for the software.
- Use a mouse with a scroll wheel for better control over zoom and rotation commands.
- Organize your layout by docking panels you use often. You can reset your layout through the Window menu if you misplace a toolbar.
