Capturing a debug log from the SSH backend

To capture a debug log of your SSH connection:

  • In a different terminal, run Tabby with the RUST_LOG=debug environment variable set:

    • macOS: RUST_LOG=debug /Applications/Tabby.app/Contents/MacOS/Tabby
    • Linux: RUST_LOG=debug tabby
    • Powershell (from the Tabby install dir): $env:RUST_LOG="debug"; & .\tabby.exe

  • Try to connect to your SSH host from Tabby

  • The first terminal show show the connection log

  • Security-sensitive information is already redacted in the log, but it will still contain addresses and public keys.
