Updates the requirements on JuliaFormatter to permit the latest version.
Updates JuliaFormatter to 2.14.0

Release notes

Sourced from JuliaFormatter's releases.

v2.14.0

JuliaFormatter v2.14.0

Diff since v2.13.0

Added a new formatting option, preserve_single_line_blocks (default false; true for MinimalStyle). When enabled, block constructs written entirely on a single source line — e.g. try isfile(x); catch; false end or let x = 1; x end — are kept on one line, with their statements separated by semicolons, instead of being expanded onto multiple lines. This applies to function/macro definitions, for/while loops, if, let, try, do, struct/mutable struct, module/baremodule, begin, and quote. (#593, #1254, #1261)

Merged pull requests:

Closed issues:

  • Do not rewrite semicolon separated lines as separate lines (#593)
  • TagBot: Manual intervention needed for releases (#1258)
  • Idempotence failures on JuliaLang/julia@v1.12.7 (#1260)

v2.14.0

Added a new formatting option, preserve_single_line_blocks (default false; true for MinimalStyle). When enabled, block constructs written entirely on a single source line — e.g. try isfile(x); catch; false end or let x = 1; x end — are kept on one line, with their statements separated by semicolons, instead of being expanded onto multiple lines. This applies to function/macro definitions, for/while loops, if, let, try, do, struct/mutable struct, module/baremodule, begin, and quote. (#593, #1254, #1261)

v2.13.0

Added a new indent_binary_continuations option. When enabled, the continuation lines of binary operations are indented by one level with respect to the first line of the operation:

# With `indent_binary_continuations = false` (the default for most styles):
aaaaaaa
+ bbbbbbb
+ ccccccc
With indent_binary_continuations = true
aaaaaaa
+ bbbbbbb
+ ccccccc

It defaults to false for all styles except MinimalStyle (the VSCode default), where it is true. (#592, #1256)

v2.12.6

Fixed a bug where re-indenting code containing an ordinary (single-quoted) multiline string, cmd, or string-macro literal would also shift the subsequent lines of the literal, silently changing its value. Continuation lines of such literals are now kept exactly as written; only the line containing the opening delimiter moves with the surrounding code. Triple-quoted literals are unaffected. (#1251, #1253)

v2.12.5

Fixed a bug where removing the whitespace around a binary operator could change how the code tokenizes, producing invalid or ambiguous output. For example A[1. .. 1.] was formatted to A[1...1.] under MinimalStyle and A[1 - -2] was formatted to A[1--2] under DefaultStyle, neither of which parses. (#1250, #1252)

v2.12.4

Fixed a bug causing lack of idempotence when extra lines inside comma-separated arguments (e.g. in a vector) were present. (#1246, #1247)

v2.12.3

Fixed a bug causing lack of idempotence with generator expressions and join_lines_based_on_source = true. (#1244, #1245)

v2.12.2

Fixed a bug where formatting of specific array literals would not be idempotent under MinimalStyle. (#1241, #1243)

Fixed a bug where array literals with newline separators would be formatted into a different array under MinimalStyle. (#1242, #1243)
