Release 0.1.7.1
Release v0.1.7.1.
Download: ZDPS - DPS Meter.zip
Important
As a reminder, to update your existing ZDPS install, simply extract the new ZIP and overwrite your existing one. All of your settings will persist.
If you are concerned about potential data loss, the following are the main files for your user data inside the Data folder:
ZDatabase.db, Settings.json, EventTrackerPresetsContainersSaveData.json, EventTrackerPresetsTrackersSaveData.json, EventTrackerSaveData.json
Feel free to back them up before updating your ZDPS version.
Note
When using the Event Tracker, be sure to exit Edit Mode when you're done moving/resizing your Containers. Being in Edit Mode will make your Trackers behave in unexpected/wrong ways. This has been the root cause of many issue reports. If the Pencil icon is Red, you're still in Edit Mode. When it's White you are no longer in Edit Mode.
New Event Tracker Features
- Added the ability to Drag and Drop Trackers onto Containers to Move them to another Container.
- If you hold Control while doing this, you will instead Copy the Tracker to the destination Container. Dropping it on it's existing Container will duplicate the Tracker.
- Added the ability to Drag and Drop Containers before/after each other to re-order them in the list.
- Added a Right-Click Context Menu to Trackers and Containers that allows you to immediately Copy To Clipboard and share it as if it were a preset, making the whole sharing process much smoother and quicker than before.
- This should help reduce the tedious process of before, and help in reducing Preset bloat.
- Added new setting to
Who To TrackforSummons.- When on this mode, another new setting appears for restricting it to only your own summons.
- Added an option to Containers to display them in the Task Bar, allowing screen recorders such as OBS to perform a Window Capture on them.
- You may need to toggle the Container's Enabled state Off and On again for this to take effect (or restart ZDPS).
- It's suggested in OBS to also use the
Window Match Prioritysetting set toWindow title must matchand lock the Source to prevent it from switching to another ZDPS window when the Container is not visible. This is standard OBS behavior and not a bug from ZDPS or OBS.
- Added a new setting to restrict Trackers to only a single instance.
- This can be useful if you're tracking multiple entities at once, such as with Everyone or Party, but only want to see a single instance of the Buff. This may result in unexpected behavior of some other systems such as Event Triggers.
- Added a new setting to restrict Buffs to only those applied by you.
- Added a new setting in the Settings menu of the Event Tracker window to allow keeping Containers visible while ZDPS is in focus.
- This builds on the existing setting that would hide Containers when the game is not in focus, allowing ZDPS to also be an exception for keeping them visible.
- Added support for Circular Duration Progress Bars.
- This is a setting that appears just after enabling the Duration Progress Bar. The Style will default to Line.
- Unlike the Line style, putting content "inside" of the progress bar in Circle mode is much more limited. Only the Icon and the Duration Text is supported for being placed "inside."
- The Icon is not supported being inside of a Line Style bar.
- Additional settings specific to a Circle Style have been added as well, such as Line Thickness and Overlay Fill.
- Added support for setting the Duration Text Color.
- This is supported only when the Duration Text is inside of the Circle Progress Bar. It will be expanded to support other areas soon.
- Added new setting to Ignore Duration of Buffs.
- This also comes with another new setting to use Layers as a metric for replacing the Duration logic. You can manually enter what the 'target' Max Layers Count is to perform a simple CurrentLayers/MaxLayers logic for displaying the Remaining Duration.
- Added new Load Time settings for Trackers to allow Keeping Trackers through certain events.
- This currently supports keeping Trackers through Scene (Map) Changes, Wipes, and Restarts (typically Raid Boss kills).
- Added new Display Format setting to make the Duration Text formatted as Minutes instead of Seconds if it's over 60 seconds.
- Added the ability to track where Presets come from (if they are Internal built-in ones or Manually added ones).
- This makes it so when you click
Reload Internal Presetsin the Settings menu, the Internal (built-in) Presets get updated in-place instead of always appending new Containers/Trackers every single time and making it a pain to deal with.- Note that all existing Containers/Trackers are considered to be "Manual" which means this will not work on the existing ones, it only works going forward. It is strongly suggested to clear out your existing Presets that were built-in and then click this button in the Settings menu of the Event Tracker to get updated to the latest built-in Preset versions.
- This makes it so when you click
- Added the ability to filter Tracker Presets by their Tracker Name.
- This is just the first step in improving how Presets are managed. It's clear a lot of work needs to be done to help make managing them an easy process due to the amount of Preset sharing that is going on. Please feel free to give suggestions on what other features you'd like to see for managing your Presets easier.
Once again would like to point out a video tutorial guide created by yocuppajoe is available on YouTube to help with getting started using the new Event Tracker system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY1bPxSXGZE
A lot of changes have clearly happened since this video was made only a few days ago but it's still extremely helpful for anyone new to the Event Tracker system. It can feel intimidating when first looking at the UI of it, but it's really not that scary!
Changes:
General
- More Entities have their Name data resolved, namely "Dummy" entities which are used during skills to create effects or placeholders such as the Moonblades during a Stormblade's Scythe Wheel cast.
- Updated how Raid Warnings and Countdowns are created to further ensure they don't attempt to take input focus.
Entity Inspector
- Changed the Attack display in Entity Inspector to show MATK if on a Magic damage based class (primary stat is Intellect).
Event Tracker
- Updated the Container Setting section of the Event Tracker window.
- This is part of an ongoing effort to make the UI more approachable. Please provide feedback on how you feel about the changes and if they're helping or not.
- Updated how Presets are turned into Containers/Trackers to ensure Icon paths are revalidated to prevent unexpected growth of the Container window.
- While hovering over a Buff, if Control is held more details about the Caster will be displayed.
- Added a Context Menu to the Event Tracker Debug Log Window to provide access to common actions.
- Fixed Buff Events not always updating their Duration if a new value was sent using the
RemoveLayerevent. - Added warning message to the title bar of the Event Tracker window to further notify the user when they are in combat and are still in Edit Mode.
- Updated how Preset Managers open to ensure they always come to the front (on top of all other windows) when you open one.
- They won't get lost behind all your other open applications anymore now.
Note
Skill Cooldowns in the Event Tracker may not always respond correctly to Cooldown Accelerators like Tina. A fix for this is being worked on but due to Skill Cooldown tracking being in the minority of use cases for the Event Tracker by the community, it is lower priority than getting Buff Tracking and the rest of the Event Tracker experience in a solid state.
Public Beta Tests for upcoming ZDPS updates are held in the Harmony Guild Discord and the BPSR Devs Discord (linked in the Getting Started section of the ReadMe). You can also find help in those Discords typically faster than other methods.
