Publish release notes on Github too

Would it be possible to publish the release notes on Github too?

My work blocks your website so can't access the release notes. Previously, they were posted as part of the release notes within the repository.

Hi @weyert, thanks for opening a discussion.

Yes, I can try and publish release notes on GitHub too going forwards. The reason I haven't been doing that is because it's procedurally tedious: I need to copy-paste from the MkDocs site, and then do a bunch of manual fixups because of differences between the GHFM and the MkDocs markdown extensions that the site uses. However, that's something I've been meaning to automate.

To take a step back however: I would strongly recommend that you try and get the zizmor.sh site unblocked at your work -- my long-term plan is to do more and more caching via static APIs to reduce the amount of GitHub REST API traffic zizmor creates, which means that many of the current online audits will attempt to opportunistically hit zizmor.sh before falling back to the REST APIs. Everything will still degrade gracefully, but you might hit performance issues in upcoming releases due to network timeouts. See #278 for more details there 🙂

The latest 1.8.0 release notes are on GitHub. I'm going to keep looking into automating this.
