Very long startup time on macOS #132

What I noticed is that startup time of meld on macOS is much longer than on Linux. On macOS, GUI shows up after 4 seconds, on Linux, almost instantly.

meld: 3.21.0.osx3
OS: macOS Big Sur 11.6
