[Feature Request] API Query category

It would be nice to have the ability to query category ids over the api.
So that when they already exist i can work with them. Or if the add fails because of already existing one, it replys with a status code and at the same time gives the id of the already existing item back.

That makes sense, I think I can implement that somehow
